GEORGE TOWN: MCA members in Penang are encouraged to use the party’s forthcoming state convention as a platform to forge unity.
State party secretary Lau Chiek Tuan said delegates should voice their opinions on a host of current issues during the convention.
“More importantly, delegates must use the platform to forge greater solidarity and keep spirits high for the next general election.
More than 600 delegates are expected to attend the Penang MCA Convention at the Vistana Hotel here on Aug 1.
Lau, who is the convention supervisory committee chairman, said Tourism Minister and Penang MCA chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen will chair the convention.
Party president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek and his deputy, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, will be among the national leaders present.
It is learnt that 14 resolutions would be tabled at the convention, touching on issues that include politics, party affairs, the economy, culture, tourism and education.
